Im Mai 2026 kommt die britische Saxophonistin, Komponistin und Bandleaderin Emma Rawicz für eine Zusammenarbeit mit dem MUK.jazzorchestra nach Wien. Das Projekt markiert sowohl ihr Bigband-Debüt in Österreich als auch ihren ersten Auftritt in Wien. Gemeinsam präsentieren sie ein facettenreiches Programm aus Rawicz’ Originalkompositionen für Jazzorchester–Musik, die stilistische Grenzen überwindet und Einflüsse aus unterschiedlichsten Richtungen vereint: von den orchestralen Klangwelten großer Bigband-Größen wie Kenny Wheeler, Maria Schneider und Nikki Iles über groovebetonte Rockelemente und folkloristische Melodien bis hin zu klassischer Musik und Singer-Songwriter-Atmosphären.

In May 2026, British saxophonist, composer, and bandleader Emma Rawicz will come to Vienna for a collaboration with the MUK.jazzorchestra. This project marks both her big band debut in Austria and her first-ever performance in Vienna. Together, they will present a multifaceted program of Rawicz’s original compositions for jazz orchestra—music that transcends stylistic boundaries and synthesizes influences from a wide array of sources: ranging from the orchestral soundscapes of big band greats such as Kenny Wheeler, Maria Schneider, and Nikki Iles, to groove-driven rock elements and folk-inspired melodies, and extending to classical music and singer-songwriter atmospheres.
