This is a very short set that was shared here by kneesfud back in 2011. Many thanks to them. It hasn't run since, and it seems like a worthy companion piece to a couple of other recent Fairport shares from this same general time. The difference here is the quality of the sound due to FM sourcing, and the comparative short length (a little over 20 minutes). It doesn't seem that the actual date or location of this show was ever determined beyond it being from February of 1971 in Frankfurt.
RT had left the band, and this was in fact the Angel Delight/Babbacombe Lee quartet of Dave Swarbrick, Simon Nicol, Dave Pegg, and Dave Mattacks. The only nod here to those albums just mentioned is Bridge Over the River Ash where we have something of a string quartet. 2 of the songs went back to Liege and Lief, and the other two to Full House. Audacity was used for the new tracking in this share, and to add a little depth to what had been an almost overly bright, but clear, recording.
Enjoy, as we wind down the freeloader days for another year!
