boombox's notes august 2026:
Despite following their music for nearly 20 years, this was my first time seeing the Lips for one reason or another, but I hope it won't be my last. These guys put on the best show I have seen this year - great songs and excellent theatrics and the venue, though just a huge metal shed, wasn't too bad either. They promised "two unique sets" and certainly delivered - there are, of course, certain songs they HAVE to do pretty much every show, but we got the first 'Morning' and 'Ego Tripping' since last summer and indeed they weren't played anywhere else in Europe and overall, it was pretty much a perfect setlist for me. (It would have been perfect if we'd got 'Fight Test' and 'Superman', but hey, there's always next time.)

Recording came out pretty well overall as I was quite close to the front and there weren't too many talkers. Applause was very enthusiastic though, especially in the second set, which explains why this has take a long time to get ready. For a shed, the Depot sound was not too boomy and was much better than anticipated - a venue I would willingly visit again.
