Show Notes: Night 4 of the Gillian and Dave love fest in Melbourne, and a Friday night crowd, many of whom had clearly been to at least 1 prior show were up for a party. All 4 shows I attended were brilliant, but this had something that elevated the show to the next level and was my favourite of all the nights. A crowd that was really revved up were treated to some real rarities tonight, including what is presumably a new song, currently unreleased called The Princess and the Raven, only having been played once before according to Setlist FM. Tonight's performance of Lazarus was the best one yet, Dave really finding his voice, and that guitar solo is mesmerising - it may be unreleased but the audience reacted like it was a classic that'd been in the set for years. Then we get to the encore - 3 more of them, this time with the never before played cover of Buddy Holly and the Crickets' Not Fade Away, then a sublime cover of Jefferson Airplane's White Rabbit to end the show. It was an incredible night of music. Thank you Gillian and Dave (and Paul) for 4 nights of amazing music. I wish I'd attended night 5 as well, but sometimes you can't do it all!

Recording Notes: This was my most troublesome recording. Mid way through The Princess and the Raven a mic rustle noise began and didn't stop for the rest of the recording. I was really annoyed thinking it was something I was doing in my seat, however upon closer inspection of the file it turns out the right channel microphone developed an issue, and the left channel was completely fine. So my friend Matt took the left channel and created a fake stereo mix. It now sounds 100% better than it did, free of all the mic rustle noise that plagued the recording and made the second set almost unlistenable. As a result of needing to create a fake stereo mix this is the "worst" of my 4 recordings, but it still sounds perfectly decent, and with some real rarities in the set, and my favourite show out of the four I attended, this is a great one to listen to. Enjoy!
