Welcome to release four from the Lapsteelcate archives, this week we feature a show coming at a critical time in Jackson's career. Putting this show in context, it had been two years since his last release, Late For The Sky. There is no confirmed date of when The Pretender was released other than November 1976. Debuting at #52 on the Top 200 the same day as this show, an artist of Jackson's stature at the time would have taken 2-3 weeks of sales to make entery in the Top 200 it likely came out the first Monday or Tuesday in November. Interestingly, Jackson only plays three songs from the new release continuing to rely heavily on past releases.

A big thanks to Lapsteelcate for reaching out and trusting me with her deep archives. Stay tuned there are more uncirculated shows on the way.

Thanks to dime member vinegarjoe for putting Cate and I in contact and of course we are always grateful to Goody, who once again handled pitch duties with his usual steady, masterful hand.

Collectors, don't let your archives fade away. If you need assistance releasing Masters or other known generation tapes or shows that do not circulate, please get in touch. Your archives and hard work deserve to be shared with the world, after-all, you cant take them with you...no tape left behind!
