Notes:
My ninth annual recording of James Taylor at Tanglewood. Steady rain during the first 20 or so minutes of the show, followed by a nice rainbow near the end of That's Why I'm Here. Some changes to the usual set list for the shows I've been to since 2016. Shower the People, normally a late second set song, was played during the first set. You Can Close Your Eyes, which regularly has been the closing song, was not played, with Sweet Baby James making a unusual appearance as the second encore (it wouldn't be a Tanglewood show without it). Never Die Young and Handy Man were performed for the first time since 2018 and Line 'Em Up for the first time since 2017. Whenever You're Ready, T-Bone and Millworker have not been played since at least 2016. [There are usually two shows each year and I only attend one of them, but the setlists generally are the same each night.] Carolina in My Mind, Fire and Rain, Sweet Baby James, Steamroller Blues, Mexico and Your Smiling Face continue as the songs that have been played every year since at least 2016.
Recorded from the lawn, about 30 yards distant from and directly in line with the left speaker. We relocated further left after the first set to avoid some loud talkers. Sound is very clear with no audience noise during the music.
Adverse weather conditions resulted in some fuzziness during parts of some banter tracks. Fortunately this did not affect the music. MVSep was used to remove crowd noise. The show for the most part will play seamlessly without the banter tracks.
Enjoy the show and support the artists.
Samples included in comments, artwork included in torrent. If burning to CD, tracks 1-19can fit on the first CD, the rest on a second CD.
