About this concert
"The 'Avant-garde Noise Legend' meets the 'New Jimi Hendrix'" or "Night Of The Raging Guitars",
just a few of the titles of this short European tour '97, their first onstage meeting over here,
Elliott Sharp and Jean-Paul Bourelly sharing the same scene...it sounded very interesting.
And turned out to be the most interesting concert under the file "New Jazz" at the E-Werk in 1997.
The ultimate opinion of some visitors after the concert was between "...way TOO loud" to "...simply
psychedelically !" or just "...mind-blowing !", culminating in a final "...way TOO short !"
"Kellerb hne" (cellar stage) is the smallest of four venues at the E-Werk, three of them quite
regularely used for concerts, and is provided with a fantastic sounding PA-system.

Visitors capacity is either 110 seated or up to more than 200 standing. The attendance at this
concert was something around 80 to 90 people, a small attentive and at the end rowdy crowd...
And both performers behaved very friendly and mindful before and after their show, fulfilling
all audience wishes like autographs, photos and small talks. And they turned out as not so
talkative onstage, allowing just their music to do the talking for them...
Jean-Paul was travelling light, just with his guitar and a small amp, meanwhile Elliott needed
a 'big truck' for his own, as he came with a complete Apple Mac-computer station hosting all his
samples, beats & percussion grooves, and enough instruments for a small band: his well known
electric doubleneck guitarbass, an 8-string acoustic guitarbass, a couple of electric guitars,
saxophones and his bass clarinet.
