this is essentially an uncirculated version of this Atlanta show.
This is the first time this one has been traded digitally.
There may be a better sounding recording of this out there somewhere, but hey, I offer what I have.

THE SOUND:
Taped from the audience (section 102, Row X)
It's kinda hissy considering it is from the master
I guess the old Aiwa and a coupla a Maxel UDs are noisier than I remember.
or maybe I've just gotten spoiled over the last decade and a half by the silence inherent in the digital medium.

This doesn't have the greatest sound out there.
The best sounding show from this tour that I have/know of is Tokyo Sept. 22, a month after this one.
The Tokyo show is an audience job but digitally recorded with wonderful clarity and dynamic range.

--------------------------
THE LINEAGE:
Master Maxell UD cassette in a portable Aiwa walkman (don't remember the model) with cheapo stereo mic clipped to a hat > Nakamichi BX-2 > digitize via Audacity > FLAC 8 via xAct

A raw transfer.
No noise reduction or eq was applied.
Tape player (Nakamichi BX-2) azimuth adjustment was done.

THE SHOW:
Ticket price $19.50
Nice show. I really liked this outing, the 25th Anniversary Tour.
Lots of old songs, new arrangements, good stuff.
It's hard to believe that it was 14 years ago.
This was really the beginning of when Ian (as Tull) started to play more older than newer material (Roots to Branches tour excepted), and the beginning of, for me, a downward slide into irrelevancy.
Sad to say. (And this from a huge Tull fan for decades)
I know Ian says he plays for the kids who have never seen Tull live before and HAVE TO hear Aqualung and Bouree. Still, he could mix it up a bit more. Or heck, how about putting out a Tull album?! How long has it been?

Anyway, back to '93 -
I had a friend who knew Dave Pegg and I got to go backstage after the show. Ian wasn't there but Martin, Andy, and Dave were. I asked Martin to sign my copy of his CD "A Summer Band". He was rather surprised as it had only been released a week or so earlier, and only through the Tull fan club at that. I think that mine had arrived in the mail 2-3 days before the show. Martin mentioned that he had hurt his right hand before the show (not sure when exactly - and you couldn't tell from his playing). When I offered to shake his left hand in thanks for 25 years of great music, he said, "no, a proper handshake is with the right hand. Just be gentle."
He was quite affable and a real gentleman.

Five days later I was back here for a Midnight Oil concert.
Another great band. I miss them. These days you rarely hear that kind of interplay between the guitarists, let alone that kind a hard rockin' passion.

HEY GANG:
I offer what I have, with ALL the information known to me.
If you've got a better version, seed it.
If you have more accurate information, please add it in a comment.
If anyone would like to attempt a remaster, go right ahead.

Try and keep it positive.
Let's make DIME as good an experience for all as possible.
