An intimate evening with master songwriter Jimmy Webb, Joe Ray gives his thoughts.

Jimmy Webb is one of America�s finest songwriters of his generation. For over an hour and forty-five minutes Jimmy Webb took the audience through his career of writing some of his most famous hit songs. During the concert, Jimmy would introduce every song with a story that led up to him writing and recording that song. He performed solo on a Steinway Piano.

Most memorable are his stories of writing for Glen Campbell who he wrote Galveston, By The Time I get To Phoenix and Wichita Lineman. Though these were the most known songs, Glen Campbell recorded over 120 of Jimmy Webb songs.

I first met Jimmy Webb on the Masters of American Songwriters Train that also included Tom Russell and Jesse Winchester. Our train went from LA to Oakland and back to LA. It was a spectacular trip with views of the Pacific Ocean that most folks on the train will ever see. During our trip, Jimmy did over 5 hours of songs and stories that simply blew us all away.

This concert was recorded my mom and my nephew, Chris.
