Another Jackal Production vol 28, Jon Anderson 2019-08-26 Harris Center Folsom Lake College, Folsom, CA
I advertently skipped vol 28 with my last posting, so this will fill that gap. Next post will be vol 30.
The day of show was also the day of the annual charity golf tournament sponsored by my company. It's generally a drunken day at the country club with some cheating foursome inevitably scrambling to a 57 or 58. We shot something in the middle 60s, so nothing for my group at the awards banquet aside from some possible raffle prizes. I left my raffle tickets for our table to fight over, dined & dashed before the drawing and got to the show in plenty of time.
I've seen Jon with Yes maybe a dozen times since the middle 70s (the first time I saw Yes, 6/25/75 at the Cow Palace, was a life-changing event!). It was great seeing him solo & up close in this 850-seat theater. Even though I'm not a patron, I managed to get tix through the presale when I was really just calling the theater box office to inquire about the general public onsale date. I had my choice of tickets and got 3rd row center. Good sound in the small theater. It was a great set and Jon's voice remains a gift from the gods for us mere mortals. Knowing the stage at Harris Center is kinda small, I wasn't expecting Jon to bring a full touring band. He did and they were great!
At the end, Jon says, "Thank you so much, drive carefully". Well, that one's easy because the Harris Center is less than 7 minutes from home via residential streets. I wish more bands would play here!
Includes the tour poster & some okay pics (remember, I was in row 3) taken with my crappy iPhone 8.
Enjoy!
