NOTES:

This was my 4th time seeing Kraftwerk I think? And second time at Coachella (the last time being at Coachella 2008, 17 years ago, when they played the main stage before Portishead/Prince). This time they were back in the Mojave tent, closing out Sunday night right after Basement Jaxx (couldn't ask for a better scenario in my opinion). It was your standard shortened festival set, though they still played an hour and twenty minutes rather than the typical 50 minute festival set most bands at Coachella get (like the aforementioned Basement Jaxx).

They rolled through hits like Computer World, Computer Love, Autobahn and Trans-Europe Express. The coolest moment though? When they played "Spacelab", they showed their typical video screen in the back with the space graphics and they eventually zoomed into planet Earth to the coordinates they were playing at (Coachella in this case) and as they typically do, they show some type of image/graphic to represent where they're playing at. I was expecting some palm trees or a Ferris Wheel, and while they did show that, they also cut to a shot of a graphic/image of the Mojave Tent itself. For a second, I thought 'wow cool, they made a 3D rendering of the tent for their show', and then it hit me like some bricks in the face, I know that graphic! Then it hit me again, even harder, that was MY graphic/image, that I made/designed on the computer, for my website's (www.themojavetent.com) header! They used MY image of the Mojave Tent for their own visuals/show! Holy crap, how awesome! I had no idea that was going to be the case, it was a total surprise to me.

Some people, afterwards, thought I should be mad because they didn't contact me for permission or pay me, but um given what I'm doing with my audio recorder and such, and sharing this here recording, who am I to complain and bitch and moan? I just thought it was beyond cool that legends such as Kraftwerk would use some dumb little image I made on the computer in my bedroom for their visuals at their Coachella set. I was beyond the moon! Maybe beyond Mars!

Anyway, it was a great set, and the recording sounds really great imho. A great way to end my 30th Coachella!
