After Scandinavia and Germany, the 1977 tour moved on to Holland, where Lou always had a big fan base. This show in Den Haag was characterised by extended versions of "How Do You Think It Feels" and probably the longest recorded live version of "Charlie's Girl". The last 10 minutes of the recording are practically a free-form jam, with several minutes which are strongly reminiscent of "Metal Machine Music". The band are just getting back into the tune when the tape cuts out.(A section of this jam was featured on the bootleg LP "Metal Machine Sound" and given the title "Metal Machine Improvisation".) A contemporary press review implies that "Kicks" rounded off the show but it's not on my cassette.

Unfortunately the recording is only mediocre quality, but the content makes up for that!

RIP Lou
