After the "play all of the new LP then an oldies set" approach of 1989 and 1992, Lou's 1996 world tour to support "Set The Twilight Reeling" reverted to the old familiar format. A selection of songs from the new LP are scattered amongst the "oldies", although the focus is on more recent oldies, with the 1960s and 1970s only getting 2 songs each. A very long version of "Suzanne" with both Lou and Fernando vamping up the vocals!

The audience are loudly appreciatve between and sometimes during the songs (this is Glasgow, after all!), but I think that it just adds to the ambience - Lou hadn't played here since the shambolic "Sally Can't Dance" tour back in 1974. There was a mobile recording studio parked outside the venue - the show was filmed by an American (cable?) TV station. I know that at least part of it was later broadcast in the USA.

RIP Lou
