I always went along to the Colchester folk club, in the same venue. A huge church with a high vaulted ceiling. But they announced one night that someone called 'Mike Peters' was playing the next night so I went along. Got to be the guy from The Alarm, I thought. Brilliant. Thoroughly enjoyed myself. Worked his socks off and just put on a really professional show.
