This was the last Modest Mouse set on the Ice Cream Floats cruise, a full performance of The Moon & Antarctica. My favorite band playing my
favorite album, so it really couldn't get much better for me. There were a number of songs I love and had never seen them play before, but the
highlight was definitely "Life Like Weeds." I feel like that's a song that could be tough to translate to a live setting, but Isaac and the
gang nailed it. Aside from the actual music, another highlight was Isaac getting pelted with a dozen or so pairs of sunglasses from the
audience after he asked for a pair.
The weather was kind to us this day, and while there is a bit of wind here and there, overall this recording sounds fantastic. The crowd
around me was pretty good too, and there isn't too much talking during songs. I do have to apologize for trying to do the claps during the
instrumental part of "Alone Down There" and getting the timing wrong at first. The guy next to me realized what I was doing and joined in,
only for both of to be thwarted by the band adding an extra measure or so to that part of the song. You can hear him say "come on, that
was the right one!" Maybe not the best taper etiquette of me, but I was having fun, you know?
