(unknown gen aud tape to cd-r)

Thanks to the generosity of 'longred' and his mystery friend, Mountain fanatics get a real treat after 54 years.
I had no prior knowledge about the existence of this tape.

This came to me as one untracked file and no info, except for "unknown gen aud to cdr".

'Longred' later found out that the unknown generation aud tape was digitized in the late '90s, and burnt to CD-R. Contents of that CD-R were at some point copied to external hard drive which 'longred' got access to.

I haven't done anything to the file except for splitting it in Audacity.

The show was most likely recorded on a 60min tape. Taper stopped recorder few times in between the songs.

Johnny Winter And were on the same bill, and apparently both bands played two shows that night. Recording of Johnny Winter And show has been circulating for quite some
time. t is not known whether this tape is from early or late show.

Throwback Concert: Mountain at Quinnipiac University 1971
99.1 PLR celebrates 50 years! This week we are celebrating our first year on the air: 1971.

That year Mountain, along with Johnny Winter, played two shows on the same night at Quinnipiac University in Hamden. The first show was at 8pm and the second show at
11pm. Mountain had just released its monster hit “Mississippi Queen” the year before and were hitting the road to support their second studio album, “Nantucket
Sleighride.”
