JoeRay was on hand to capture Neil's Cuyahoga Falls stop on his 2025 Love Earth World Tour, a powerful blend of nostalgia, activism, and musical reinvention.

We are gifted with a song debut (Silver Eagle) at tonight's performance.

JoeRay adds some additional commentary and thoughts around the show:

******************************************************************************

It has been 57 years since I first saw Neil Young with my mom, Betts Skrha, at La Cave back in 1969. Since then, Neil and his music have played an instrumental role in my life. His songwriting, guitar work, and environmental consciousness have given me strength, joy, and hope throughout the years.

Tonights concert at Blossom Music Center marked the fifth time Neil has played there. Blossom is a 20,000-seat amphitheater with lawn seating, nestled within the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Its also home to the Cleveland Orchestra. The last time I was at Blossom was to see Neil and The Pretenders in 1997. Since then, Blossom has aged, but it remains refreshingly non-commercial compared to other amphitheaters.

The evening began with a set by Reverend Billy & The Stop Shopping Choir, which was inspirational from an environmental perspective. At 6:30 p.m., Neil and The Chrome Hearts took the stage, and the audience came alive. Unfortunately, someone had decided to allow a PIT (standing room) area in front of the stage, which forced everyone behind themmany in $300 seatsto stand for most of the night. This made it especially difficult for attendees in wheelchairs, who were blocked from viewing the stage. Two screens on either side of the amphitheater provided some visibility, but they were a poor substitute for seeing the performance directly. The average age of the audience was between 60 and 70.

Neil and the bands performance was exceptional. Neil was vibrant, strong, and passionate throughout the night. The band was tight and powerful. I especially enjoyed watching Spooner Oldham, who is even older than Neil.

For me, the highlight of the concert was the middle section of songs: Ohio, Looking Forward, Silver Eagle, Harvest Moon, and Daddy Went Walking. Neils debut of Silver Eagle was the first performance of the song on this tour, and the Blossom audience was deeply grateful. Neil also brought out an old Gretsch guitar that had been lost (stolen) for many years, and which Randy Bachman had located and returned to him. Neil shared the detailed story and then performed several songs with the guitar.

In summary, I was most delighted to have my 95-year-old mom attend the concert with me and share the experience, as she has done hundreds of times throughout my life. Her two grandsons, Chris and Nate, also joined us for the concert. I love you, Mom
