This recording circulates from CD copies that Tim made for a couple people in trades many years ago, but this is the first time this recording has been seeded from the master cassette with no CD generations. Magician's Theater is a rare find, too.

There is lack of clarity about the performance date. According to the PMDB, the PMG played at the Park West two nights, November 1-2. Advertisements in the paper, however, give only one performance on 11/01, and this was true as of 10/28/79 when Park West updated its ad in the Chicago Tribune. If there was a second show on 11/02, it was very last minute.

A few smaller regional newspapers give concert listings on both 11/01 and 11/02, but those listings predate the 10/28 Park West advertising by several weeks, so they are probably mistakes. Adding to the confusion, there are Getty photos of Pat Metheny at Park West dated November 3, even though the PMDB lists a 11/3 concert in Glen Ellyn, IL.

This recording also circulates dated 1979-08-23 (without San Lorenzo and with Airstream following Heartland), but that date is certainly incorrect. If nothing else, the WXRT announcer on this broadcast says the concert took place in "November 1979."
