Here's a PMG soundboard that doesn't show up in the dimebot archive, although 4 tracks from it were used in the PMG Companion II. They were Broadway Blues, It's For You, Jaco, and American Garage. A search of the archive only shows the Companion II in the searches I did for this show. It definitely has circulated, though, as it appears in several etree lists. That's what led me to finally grab this copy, when I did a recent file folder trade with Alan M, who's evidently still active in that etree world. Many thanks to him for sending this over.
PMG fans will know that there's a relative wealth of sbd's from the early days of the group, and there are at least a half dozen from mid July of 1982 alone. The set played here generally mirrors what you may be familiar with from those other boots. The PMG were still touring the Offramp album and playing a good bit of that, along with some earlier material-including some things they never formally recorded. They also starting to add in some of the material that would first show up officially on the Travels album. This is a fine recording, and the lineage Alan M had included in our swap is pasted in below. I did have this open in Audacity and did some very minor re-tracking.
As this is being prepped, we've gotten a partial Side Eye 2026 show here on DIME that included a few mentions in comments about people who've been attending a few other shows recently. Hopefully a few more new things will flesh out what's happening on this current tour. In the meantime, here's a really nice memento from earlier days for Pat (and may others reading this). Thanks again, to those who've moved these recordings along for the rest of us to enjoy.
