boombox's notes march 2026:
Ok, so it was Bill's name which got my attention, but as I discovered, he's not the only reason to check out this very talented trio, who play a mixture of straight on jazz and fusion. Pete is a fine player (though could have done with being a little higher in the mix) and Mike is a master of lead melodic basslines. However, you can't ignore just what a monster player Bill is and my table gave me a great side-on view of his playing in which he used techniques I hadn't seen before. Overall, it was such a pleasurable evening that I immediately went home and booked to see them again in early 2026.

Recording is very good overall. There's the teeniest bit of mic rumble at times during Pete's introductions which crept in when I boosted the overall volume, but the music sounds very good indeed. Minimal talkers too and not too many coughs to disrupt a recording made at that time of year.
