I missed RP's last northern California appearance in 2022, which was in Napa with Alison Krauss. A week before that show my 99 year old Mom got COVID so I decided it was best to sit that one out & tend to her (two days before the show I tested positive too). She got better but I was bummed to have missed what I thought might be my last chance to see RP (nowadays you never know when a tour might be an artist's last). It was great to see Robert & his new band at the Fox in Oakland, which is one of my favorite venues.

Great band and RP was in fine voice. There was an unplanned break 3 songs into the show. Apparently there were some monitor problems and the band couldn't hear themelves play... they sounded great over the PA. Bob was in a very chatty mood, probably because he had to kill time when the problem first popped up hoping for a quick fix. It was tough to set an appropriate recording level with some really quiet parts quickly transitioning to full band / full volume. As a result there are a couple rough spots but overall I think it's a decent recording.
