This night at Iridium is being brought back after first being offered here as separate sets 15 years ago by abbcccus in conjunction with amarilio. Thanks to them for those shares. The lineage info from that time is pasted in below from the dimebot archive. Now, in 2026, this share combines both sets and also includes a light touch of remastering newly done via EQ and Mastering tools in Audacity. That was in an attempt to bring out a bit more depth and clarity, and a the samples below will include a comparison between the versions. You'll also note a bit of overlap in 3 songs between the 2 sets. That might've factored into the 2011 decision to share both sets separately.
Regarding the "Super Fusion" billing, the 3 players were all veterans of the genres heyday in the 70's (Clark and Berlin) and its mid to late 80's renaissance (Henderson). They all are very proficient and noted players, and they're mining a repertoire that included the aforementioned heyday by visiting Weather Report, an a few Wayne Shorter WR composition, a Headhunters tunes (featuring the actual Actual Proof drummer), while also going back to Miles, Coltrane, and pre WR Wayne Shorter. There were no studio recordings from the group onstage here, but Henderson and Berlin did go into a studio with Dennis Chambers to record much of what's played here for a 2012 release on Tone Center. That trio also toured.
Source/lineage notes from 2011 have been pasted in below, and thanks again to that crew for bringing it here in the first place.
