Show and recording notes:
Just two nights prior, the band played at Boston's Paradise Theater. That show was professionally recorded for radio and was distributed by the Petty Estate just this year on Record Store Day. The audience-recorded show from two nights later in Philadelphia has rarely circulated among collectors because the original copy is full of hiss and does not sound great. To help rectify this, I used Adobe Audition's hiss removal, adaptive noise function, cut some bass and boosted the vocals -- and got rid of cheers, handclaps, etc. -- to make the recording more listenable.

The show from two nights prior has a nearly identical setlist, so this one doesn't need to be in regular rotation. However, the main difference between the sets is notable, as this is one of the only recordings that have survived of the band playing "Bo Diddley's a Gunslinger" (which was played once in 1981 in the “middle of the song “Somethin' Else" and throughout the 2008 tour shortly after Bo Diddley's death).
Also of cool note: "Route 66" is dedicated to Jon Scott, who was in attendance at the show: https://www.facebook.com/groups/tompettynation/posts/1510146802414116/

Special thanks to KS for sharing his copy.

Enjoy!
