Show Notes: I had not originally planned on going to this show, but I had a friend who was keen and he scored some prime seats only a week out from the show so I joined him (I am a lawn snob at the Music Bowl, it's seats or nothing!). I saw Tyler supporting John Prine back in 2019 and thought he was great (also recorded and shared on Dime back then), and he referenced that show but got the year wrong (sorry Tyler, it wasn't 2018). I can't believe how popular he has become in the 6 years since - this show sold out very quickly when it went on sale last July in what is one of Melbourne's largest venues (only slightly smaller than Rod Laver Arena, which was occupied by hometown hero pop princess Kylie Minogue tonight), and if John Prine (rest his soul) were alive today, he'd probably be supporting Tyler now. A very enthusiastic crowd of what were mostly Gen Z and millenials lapped up every minute (I felt old), singing loudly to songs like All Your'n, Lady May and Nose On The Grindstone. A terrific show, and given the pace of his popularity, will we see Tyler play stadiums next time he comes back?

Recording Notes: I was not planning on sharing this recording, but it came out so well I thought why not, it makes a great listen. I was in a sound sweet spot close to the right hand speaker stack down the front, and the crowd next to me and in front of me were quiet and respectful. I can't say that for the morons behind me who talked a lot and behaved poorly, but because of the mic direction they can't be heard as much as my ears heard them, but you will hear them from time to time, especially during and following Follow You To Virgie where one of them was laughing loudly for some reason and talking. There's also an occasional cougher next to me who probably spread some disease to me, she didn't sound well. Otherwise this is an excellent recording, and you won't risk any illnesses listening.
