The second annual Denver Jazz Fest presents a once-in-a-hundred-year celebration!
Unlimited Miles triumphantly celebrates the life and legacy of Miles Dewey Davis, a jazz legend of uncompromising merit. Former Davis alumnus, John Beasley conceived and curated the celebratory ensemble to include trumpeter, Marquis Hill, saxophonist, Mark Turner, guitarist Kurt Rosenwinkel, bassist, Ben Williams and drummer Terreon Gully.
This occasion marks the 100th birthday of Davis in an exclusive presentation of music ranging from the groundbreaking Birth of the Cool sessions through the late 60's classic quintet of Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, Ron Carter and Tony Williams. The Grammy Award winning Beasley will be featured on acoustic and electric keyboards and offer fresh new arrangements to this timeless repertoire.
