notes: Performed shortly after the release of NRBQ at Yankee Stadium.

Most of the soundboard is strong and clean, but the stereo image is panned to right by varying amounts, depending on what instruments are playing. As a result, fixing the stereo image or boosting the headroom evenly tends to overload the right channel. Even though the software prevents the audio from breaking up, the output starts getting harsh and loud.

After a lot of playing around, I left the stereo image alone and boosted the gain by less than I would have if the recording were more even. It sounds a little forced when the band really gets going, but brings out some of the instruments that were lost in the mix. Besides, the recording sounded a little off to begin with; at least it sounds fuller, now.

The first three tracks are messed up for a different reason. The sound is muddy and panned hard right for about 4 minutes. Levels are too high, and keep moving around. It then gets better until about 6:10, when mixing board madness begins: all of a sudden, there's only one instrument left playing, then another, then another, while the engineer futzes around. It finally evens out right after 9:00 and the rest of the show is spot on. Your patience for the first 9 minutes will be rewarded.

About 15 seconds into "That's All" is a small bit of static recorded on top of the audio signal. There's no way to remove it w/o significantly transforming the audio signal, so I left it there. Ditto another small spot in Get A Grip. There is a bit of amplifier buzz here and there.

josenoruego's notes 6/10/05:
-The tape flip in "That's Neat, That's Nice" resulted in a loss of about 2:50 worth of music. Bias Peak LE 3.10 was used to patch in the missing music from a WLIR FM broadcast source. Also, the ten second fade-in at the end of d1t19 was moved to the beginning of d2t01.
-The original torrent had sector boundary errors (SBEs).
-xACT was used to align files on sector boundaries, create new flac files and fingerprints, and produce a shntool len report.
