Deep Purple....after so many years. They once were my first ever big concert in the seventies, but with Mr. Coverdale on vocals.
As the Grugahalle isn't that far away I thought: why not go over there? Before another one bites the dust - Minimax or Gillan, f.e.
The sound was great, the band in good mood, the new guitar player is doing a great job, the new songs fitted well with their program.
We got endless solos, a homage to the Essen-area (named the Ruhrgebiet) by playing a snippet of the "Steigerlied" on keys.
A great evening, much better than expected.
